Wide Receivers

WR1: The first wide-out will be DK Metcalf. He’s a freak. He’s a monster. You won’t be able to cover him or keep up with him. Backing Metcalf up will be a blur of receivers; there won’t be just one.

WR2: This will be the other outside receiver opposite DK and that receiver will be Damarkus Lodge. Lodge is a former 4 star recruit out of Cedar Hills, Texas. He has been somewhat overshadowed his first 2 years on the field, but that will change in 2017. Coaches have praised him for flying around the field, and just playing like he is having fun. Watch for him to have a very nice season. Lodge will most likely be backed up by AJ Brown, Alex Weber, and Braylon Sanders.

Slot: This position will have two different starters for two different parts of the season. So for the beginning of the season, AJ Brown will make the start at slot. He is extremely versatile and has been working out at slot this fall to get a better grasp of the position. Although he will do an admirable job there, when the staff feels comfortable with Van Jefferson being back on the field, Jefferson will take back his rightful spot in the slot. Jefferson is NFL ready, technique wise. He’s fast enough, has very sure hands, and runs routes like a 10 year NFL veteran. Brown will move back to his outside position and Markell Pack and Tre Nixon will rotate in for Jefferson.
