South Alabama Lack of Weapons

Last year one of our clear weaknesses was in our defensive back field. Injuries decimated the depth and caused Ole Miss to play a lot of inexperienced players. However, this will be the one game where it may not be a source of worry.

South Alabama does not have any receivers with any experience on the team. Their all-everything TE Gerald Everett has left for the NFL and the rest of their receivers just…left. These guys will be facing a position group that is improving. This will allow them to have a chance to perform together as a unit against a true foe.

Their offensive line will have to face the Ole Miss pass rush led by Marquis Haynes. The senior is in his final year and is looking forward to going out with a bang. South Alabama is still in flux regarding their starting QB. All of this lends to a very tough day for the Jaguars’ offense.
