Just like any opening game across the country, there is a Ole Miss football fan who is grading out their team’s effort from game one. OHT is handing out the report cards for the Rebels against South Alabama.

Anytime there is a game you can bank on the fact of Ole Miss football fans handing out grades for their favorite team. When you factor in certain variables then you can expect the grades to be good if they won and bad if they lost. I’ve sat on the receiving end of a game one loss to a cupcake and the grades which I handed out weren’t kind. Of course, that was during the HDN era and an overtime loss against Jacksonville State. We saw how all that turned out.

Now, this is a new era in Ole Miss football. This football program has weathered the storm of the NCAA for almost 5 years. They have also weathered the results a disastrous 2016 season which also saw a turnover in staff. Among all of this came the Nutt lawsuit and the breaking story of former head coach Hugh Freeze’s resignation. Enter Nanah Waiya native and former Ole Miss player Matt Luke.

So automatically we have a brand new guy at the helm of The Flagship. Guess what, the sky really is not falling. Ole Miss has a really good team. This Ole Miss football team is good, really good. However, they aren’t immune from OHT and Making The Grades! So lets take a look at the game breakdown and hand out some grades.
