Crazy Hands

What A.J. Brown did on Saturday night was amazing. His combination of power and speed is nearly unmatched. He played so well that South Alabama safety Jeremy Reaves called him “a freak.” We know his record-breaking performance does not lie.

However, the receiver I want to focus on who showed crazy hands was his partner on the outside. D.K. Metcalf demonstrated just how good he is, during a back-to-back effort. It’s common for a receiver to have a great catch during the game. Two is a bit rarer. Two back-to-back is unheard of. Metcalf did it.

At the 3:00 mark of the 2nd quarter Metcalf tips a ball up and catches it all while keeping his feet on the field of play before going out-of-bounds. The play was so unbelievable they had to go to replay to make sure it happened. Great concentration and great hands from the former Oxford High Charger.

Then on the very next play, the poor South Alabama defender gets used again. DK made an insane sideline catch which was initially ruled incomplete because there did not seem like it was humanly possible to both catch the ball and get a leg down. Somehow Metcalf was able to do both. Like I said, crazy hands.
