Ole Miss Football: A Few Gems From The South Alabama Game
Emerging Young Talent
The game against South Alabama was going to be a chance for the young talent to make their debut. There had been whispers about redshirts, therefore many Rebels fans did not know what to expect. Though the new freshman were highly anticipated there were a couple of other younger players that made their present felt.
Sophomore Josiah Coatney gave Ole Miss some much-needed presence during the goal line stands. He had two big time tackles for a loss while the Jaguars were trying to score. Coatney showed explosiveness while getting into the back field. He finished with five tackles .
Freshman Charles Wiley was very active. He showed a lot of energy while on the field. He managed to get four tackles with one being for a loss. It was also good to see sophomore linebacker Willie Hibbler starting to settle into his role. He too had four tackles and forced a fumble.

If these young men can continue to contribute in this way, the Rebels defense will continue to improve. They are important to the defensive rotation. If the offense is going to go fast then the defense needs to rotate so they can stay fresh. Therefore, their productivity is a welcomed site.
The Rebels have started off with a successful win. Let’s hope we see many more.
