Sure, it’s fairly easy to get the picks right when there is a table full of cupcakes. Of course, not everybody had a belly full of cupcake at the end of the day. However, let’s look at my picks and the actual outcomes.
8/31 Arkansas 56 Florida A&M 6 Arkansas won 49-7
9/2 Miss State 48 Charleston So 3 Miss State won 49-0
9/2 Ole Miss 49 South Alabama 21 Ole Miss won 47-27
9/2 (12) Auburn 66 Georgia Southern 7 Auburn won 41-7
9/2 (1) Alabama 31 (3) FSU 24 Alabama won 24-7
9/2 (13) LSU 38 BYU 10 LSU won 27-0
9/3 Texas A&M 42 UCLA 28 Texas A&M lost 45-44
So what did we learn from opening week in the SEC West? First we learned the SEC West has some wide open offense as seen from the scores. We also discovered a couple of teams who need to work on defense. LSU and Alabama are not those.
