Many Ole Miss football fans expected a much better outcome in Saturday’s game against Cal. However, things weren’t as expected but we still have to hand out grades at OHT.

Needless to say this isn’t as enjoyable as grading out the first two weeks of Ole Miss football season. In an attempt to be as fair as possible, I went back and re-watched the game Sunday afternoon. I really wanted to make sure I actually saw what I did Saturday night. I mean it was a very late kickoff. Of course, it wasn’t just a dream. What I saw in the second half was pretty bad.

While many of the Ole Miss faithful have wavered after Saturday night/Sunday morning’s loss, there shouldn’t be so much negativity. Behind every loss there has to be some positives and there were against Cal. Sure, a loss is a helluva thing which to endure but we are always inclined to look at the bright side.

However, it was a loss and there were some glaring issues. Since much of the meltdown seemed to happen during the second half of the game please keep in mind these grades will be split into half grades. First half and second half grades for offense, defense and special teams. This week we are also grading out the coaching staff. Trust me, this wasn’t an easy loss to watch and even tougher to grade. Let’s get started with the grades.
