The Commodores

Before you laugh, this is a different Vandy team and Bama has to play them at Vandy. Derrick Mason will have his Vandy team ready to play hard and they will. One would have to check the record books to find the last time Vandy and Bama met when they were both undefeated. I’m sure it’s been a minute.

Trust me, coach Mason will have his defense ready for Bama. Also, the Dores have a very confident and capable quarterback in Kyle Shurmur and he is legit and has the top passer rating in the SEC. Shurmur also has an explosive offense around him to compliment his talented arm. This is the game I’ll be watching this weekend since we play Bama next week and I have this as a trap game for the Tide.

However, this game will play into the Rebel’s hands a week from now. Regardless of the outcome of this game, Bama will return to Tuscaloosa both battered and bruised. Nine days from now we may not have to dig very far to remember the last time Bama was 0-2 in conference play. It could happen in the next two Saturdays.

At the release of this piece the Vegas line on this game is Bama by 18.5. I even have Bama friends who are betting against their own team this week. Oh it’s true!
