The Defense

If you thought the offensive grade was bad. Oh it gets worse. Much much worse. Come on, what do you expect in a game where you give up 66 points? I mean it was ugly. The ugliest loss against Bama I can remember. As one Rebel fan stated on the OHT Facebook page, “Downright Atrocious!” I’m fairly certain most of Rebel nation agrees.

I really don’t care if the Alabama Crimson Tide is the No.1 ranked team in the nation. You knew what they were capable of doing from watching the replay of their Vandy game. You should have seen what was coming and whats worse, you had two weeks to prepare. Unacceptable is the best word for it and the stats certainly reflect it.

The Ole Miss defense gave up 613 yards to the Tide. 365 yards came on the ground and Jalen Hurts had his best passing game of the season with 248 yards thru the air. Much of the night there were players out of position leaving Tide receivers wide open. I said last week one of the keys to winning the game was turnover margin. The defense did not create any tho they could have. Bama was also not forced to punt the entire night.

As I stated before. This defense is loaded with talent but they were totally unprepared for the Bama game and that falls onto the coaches. We’ll get back to that later. We failed in the Bama game.
