Ole Miss Football: Grading Out The Ole Miss/Vandy Game
Special Teams Grade
With Gary Wunderlich out due to an ongoing hamstring issue, enter freshman kicker Luke Logan. Logan was 2 for 2 on FGs on the afternoon and handled all kickoff duties as usual. Logan is the future of this Ole Miss special teams unit and is certainly hear apparent for the regular stater at FG kicker once Wunderlich has graduated to the NFL.
Will Gleason handled punting on the afternoon and had 4 punts with two being downed inside the 20. Jaylon Jones handled return duties and finished with 1 return for 31 yards.
The one concern I see with Ole Miss special teams is simply players over-playing and allowing extra yardage. It’s only because they are playing super fast and have shown great improvement from week to week. This unit is going to get even better moving forward. They are getting a ton of experience behind the explosive Ole Miss offense.
