Limit Mistakes On Defense

Coach Wesley McGriff has to have the hardest job in the State of Mississippi today. From what we know of Crimedawg and his coaching style, we have to believe he can’t be happy with what he has seen thus far from this young defense. Sure, he knows he has a very talented defensive unit and he knows they have improved.

In the Vandy game the defense stepped forward and begin playing hard and fast and we saw a resurgence of sorts. However, today the competition gets tougher from a 5-2 No.24 ranked LSU Tigers team. The Rebels defense has to play mistake free football. Explosive plays have certainly played a huge part in our season so far. Missed tackles and defenders out of position in pass coverage have continued to plague us on this side of the ball.

Of course, we want to see this defense continue to play aggressively. When they play fast and aggressive we see the results in big defensive plays. However, we do know they have to quit giving up the big plays. Crimedawg knows this too.
