Ole Miss basketball, coming off a decisive exhibition game against North Alabama, opens their season with the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns tonight in The Pavilion!

Basketball season always seems to start with an exhibition and Ole Miss basketball had no real problems in their’s this past weekend. They throttled North Alabama to the tune of 94-53. Now they open their season with the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns on the eve of the football game between the two schools.

After the football season and it’s worries its easy to see why some die-hard Ole Miss fans are ready for basketball season and anxious to move past this fall. Head coach Andy Kennedy feels this could be one of his better teams across the board and we are all ready to see Ole Miss hoops in action.

Ole Miss basketball fans are ready to see the freshman Devontae Shuler. Shuler went for 18 points against North Alabama and was 4 of 9 from 3-point range. This is clearly one of the better outside shooters Kennedy has ever coached.

Of course, many of us who are Ole Miss basketball fans are excited to see the return of Breein Tyree. Tyree was limited to only 4 points in the exhibition however he stands to be simply electric this season.

Ole Miss basketball fans are anxious to see just how well Shuler progresses in a back-court full of talent. As of today, University of Memphis transfer Markell Crawford was cleared to play. This is exciting news for a Ole Miss basketball team already top-heavy with great talent.

In addition to Shuler, Tyree and Crawford there is also Deandre Burnett and Terrence Davis. When we say this is a loaded and talented backcourt we aren’t joking.

In addition to the talented back-court play there are several big men who we want to see tonight. The 7′ center Dominik Olejniczak will be a dominant force underneath while Kennedy also has other big men who are expected to contribute greatly. Seniors Marcanvis Hymon and Justas Furmanavicius not only provide quickness underneath but also provide AK with experience.
