There’s no denying the job coach Matt Luke did as the interim head coach for the Rebels during the 2017 season. With all the negative attention which was being doled out by the media, the soon to be announced COI ruling and some tough losses, Luke managed to keep the spirit of this team together.

Add to that the fact he coached the Rebels to a shocking win over Miss State and his players support him then Luke could very well be named the next Ole Miss head football coach.

As soon as the game was over Thursday night there were questions and rumors running rampant among Ole Miss fans about Luke’s future with Ole Miss. There were indications he would interview to have the interim tag removed and become the permanent head coach in Oxford.
