Ole Miss football recruiting is on the upswing with the huge commitment of Matt Corral out Long Beach California. This was a great pick up for the Rebels.

Head coach Matt Luke and his staff have wasted no time jumping into Ole Miss football recruiting. Ole Miss jumped up to 60th ranked recruiting class for 2018 with the commitment of Matt Corral. Corral, one of the top ranked quarterbacks in the nation, was committed to Florida until he stunned everybody by flipping his commitment to the Rebels Thursday.

Corral is listed by Scout.com as the No.3 pro-style quarterback prospect in the nation for the 2018 recruiting class.  Corral is also an Army All-American. At 6’2″ and 195lbs he has the size and the strength to be a complete pocket passer and his play has been described as Favre-esque.

His high school stats have been impressive to say the least. Corral completed 547 of 860 passes for an incredible 10,178 yards and 103 passing TDs while only throwing 22 INTs. Of course, just watch his highlights and you can see he is very comfortable in the pocket. Pressure doesn’t seem to have an effect on his patience, decision-making or accuracy.
