The Playoffs

The biggest part of the postseason is the playoffs. Of course, there has been a ton of controversy surrounding the final four teams who will be vying for the 2018 National Championship. Clemson, the reigning champ is once again in the mix and also Oklahoma is making its first appearance in the CFP. Two SEC teams made the mix as well.

Georgia who won the SEC Championship made it in and rightly so. However, the other team from the SEC had no business even being in the conversation. Of course, Bama didn’t even win their division. However, there is something called Bama privilege and it means something in college football.

Clemson will face Bama for their opening game in the Sugar Bowl while Georgia will face Oklahoma in the Rose Bowl. As much as many SEC fans would love to see Georgia hammer Bama for the natty, I doubt it happens. Both SEC teams have their hands full.

I doubt Georgia handles Oklahoma and I really don’t see Bama beating Clemson. Georgia travels across the country to face Oklahoma‘s Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield and they fall 38-31. Bama is not sound enough on defense to handle a very explosive Clemson offense. The Tigers and coach Dabo Sweeney get the Sugar Bowl win 36-28.

The Finale

I believe Oklahoma will meet Clemson in the National Championship game. I expect a great game and as much as I despise Oklahoma I do believe the Sooners win it all. Oklahoma wins the national title in a 48-45 shootout.

Next: The Future For Ole Miss

Well, there you have it. The best part of college football is upon us and we look forward to seeing our favorite teams play in the postseason. That is unless you’re a Ole Miss fan like myself. Maybe next year is for us and those teams who struggled this season. Good luck to all the SEC teams who are playing. Hotty Toddy!
