Ole Miss Football: Rebels Welcome 2018 Signee Tylan Knight, CB
Ole Miss football closed out its 2018 recruiting class on National Signing Day by signing one of the top players in the state of Mississippi.
Ole Miss football head coach Matt Luke and his staff did a fine job in securing a great group of players for the 2018 class. Of course, there was a definitive focus on recruiting for problem areas and most were on the defensive side of the ball. The secondary was one of those areas which the Ole Miss staff focused on especially hard with great results.
One of the players the Rebels picked up is Tylan Knight. Tylan Knight was actually a last-minute flip for coach Matt Luke and Ole Miss. Knight had been committed to Louisiana-Lafayette up until just before signing day and receiving the offer from Ole Miss paid off last Wednesday when the top high school player in the state picked Ole Miss as his landing spot.

Ole Miss Rebels Football
Tylan Knight is a 5’7″ 170 lb corner-back out of Pearl High School. Rated only as a 2-star mainly because of his size, Tylan Knight plays much bigger. Before you judge him by his size take a hard look at his numbers from this past season.
During the 2017 season at Pearl Tylan Knight had 117 tackles with 18 of those being for a loss. Knight also had 5 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries and 2 interceptions. He also scored 14 touchdowns. Knight had 7 rushing TDs, 4 receiving TDs, and did I mention he also threw for 2 more TDs?
Tylan Knight was selected to play in the Alabama -Mississippi All-star game and was also selected as Mississippi’s 6A player of the year. And to think he did it all at Pearl a 6A program.
knight was an integral part of Pearl High School’s football program while he was there and we can believe he will be at Ole Miss as well.
A Knight’s Tale
Recruited by coach Derrick Nix, Tylan Knight is a huge addition to the Ole Miss football program. It has already been acknowledged by Knight the Ole Miss staff intends to play Knight everywhere. He did it in the biggest league in Mississippi high school football so he is up for the task at Ole Miss. Of course, at this point we have no idea what role the ‘honey badger clone’ will play for the Rebels. However, while at Pearl Knight played everywhere.
