The 2019 Ole Miss football recruiting class is already ranked No.5 in the nation and could get even better in the coming weeks.

After coach Matt Luke and Ole Miss football just landed a Top-25 2018 Ole Miss recruiting class this coming recruiting season stands to be much better. Luke and his staff did an excellent job with the current signing class considering all they were up against. Now with the 2019 Ole Miss recruiting class laid out ahead it looks like the whole recruiting landscape has changed.

Of course, it’s hard to imagine a much better scenario for Matt Luke just beginning his first season as the permanent head coach. Right now, with everything else which has happened Matt Luke is sitting on top of the recruiting world. Still the best is yet to come and it will come in the 2019 recruiting class. This class is currently ranked 5th best in the nation by Scout and the 2nd best in the SEC.

Since the last time we checked in on the 2019 Ole Miss recruiting class coach Matt Luke has added four more commits. Of course, this brings the total to 8 commits thus far. The amazing part is that all 8 players are currently on a Mississippi high school or JUCO roster. This proves coach Matt Luke and Co are taking over recruiting within the Magnolia State. Lets take a look at the new commits.

New Commits

It’s always nice to get new commits and even better when you know they are some of the best Mississippi high school and JUCO players available. These four new commits are all very good athletes and very talented.

2018 National Signing Day was underway when Ole Miss football picked up a 2019 commit from Jamar Richardson. Richardson is a 3 star rated CB out of Jones County Junior College in Ellisville. Richardson is listed at 5’11.5″ and 167 lbs and is rated as the No.5 available JUCO player in the 2019 class.

February 8th marked the verbal commits of two more players. Ole Miss picked up verbals from JUCO players Tariqious Tisdale and Javonta Payton. Tisdale is listed as a 3-star SDE out of Northwest Community College and is listed at 6’5″ and 270 lbs. He is rated the No.7 JUCO player available. Payton is listed as a 3-star WR and is also out of Northwest. Payton is listed at 6’1″ and 170 lbs and is rated as the N0.3 JUCO player available in the 2019 recruiting class.

Of course, on February 12th Ole Miss football recruiting received a commit from Jalen Jordan. Jordan is rated as a 3-star CB out of Lake Cormorant. Jordan is listed at 5’10” and 175 lbs and is rated as the No.16 high school player in Mississippi.

Hard Targets

Of course, Ole Miss has a lot of targets for the 2019 class and some of the top are players from Mississippi or have Mississippi connections. Right now Ole Miss has offers out to over 240 high school and JUCO players. Some of these may just be ‘feelers’ but coach Matt Luke will have the inside edge on the ‘Mississippi Made’ players on the list. Some we want to follow closely are very good players.

Next: Looking A Little Further Ahead

Naturally, we are really excited about what the 2019 Ole Miss recruiting class has to offer. Of course, with a good 2018 football season we may see head coach Matt Luke tighten his grip on Mississippi recruiting even more than he already has. Hotty Toddy!
