Ole Miss Football: 2019 Recruiting Class Picks Up Big OL Commitment
The 2019 Ole Miss football recruiting class got even better last week with the commitment of another big time Mississippi player.
Ole Miss football recruiting has been full-throttle since head coach Matt Luke had the interim tag removed. The 2018 recruiting class finished far ahead of what many college football recruiting pundits had predicted. Now the 2019 Ole Miss recruiting class is shaping up to be much better than this years class. Of course, it’s obvious head coach Matt Luke has taken advantage in the Mississippi recruiting war.
Of course, last week the already good got even better as Ole Miss football picked up the 9th commitment for 2019. Last Wednesday Ole Miss drew the hard verbal commitment of Bryce Ramsey of Gulfport, Mississippi. Ramsey is a 3-star rated guard out of Harrison Central. We’ll take a quick look at Ramsey and how he will benefit the Ole Miss program.

Bryce Ramsey, OL
Ole Miss Rebels Football
Bryce Ramsey is a 3-star rated guard and is listed at 6’1.5″ and 346 pounds. He is a huge presence on the offensive line. Of course, he is huge however he is also very athletic. He also holds a state record in power-lifting for the squat at 765 lbs.
It’s obvious he has both the size and the strength to play the position on the SEC level. However, the explosiveness he shows on the line is unbelievably fast. He also displays great agility and can use his hands well. Ramsey is very efficient in his pass protection as well. Once he again he uses his hands and feet well.
Bryce Ramsey could easily become an early starter on the Ole Miss offensive line. Expect to see him work into the rotation immediately his freshman season. The Rebels didn’t focus on the depth of the offensive line in the past recruiting class so this is a huge get for Matt Luke and his staff.
Where This Class Stands
With Ramsey the 2019 Ole Miss football recruiting class is up to 9 commits. The class currently ranks No.5 in the nation with a ranking of No.3 in the SEC. Of course, the 2019 recruiting cycle is very young and the recruiting landscape will get busier as the year progresses. We want to expect this class could easily be a top-10 class for the Ole Miss program when all is said and done.
As the 2018 year progresses and we begin to see things heat we’ll certainly see more great high-school athletes make their commitments. Of course, we know head coach Matt Luke and the rest of his staff will be working hard to bring the best talent to Ole Miss. Be sure to stay tuned for updates on the 2019 Ole Miss recruiting class. Hotty Toddy!
