After a game-one loss Thursday night, No.4 Ole Miss baseball was looking to even the series against the No.5 Arkansas Razorbacks Friday night.

Ole Miss baseball fans knew this would be a tough serious and after losing a tight game Thursday night the Rebels needed to bounce back. Of course, the No.4 Rebels and the No.5 Hogs were tied in the SEC West heading into the Thursday night match-up but the loss pushed the Rebels into 2nd. However, the Rebels would bounce back against Arkansas to even the series and once again be tied for 1st in the SEC West.

The Rebels wasted no time getting cranked up and scored first with 1 run in the bottom of the 1st. The Hogs answered with 2 runs in the top of the 2nd to take a 2-1 lead into the bottom of the frame. Ole Miss responded with 2 runs in the bottom of the 2nd to retake the lead at 3-2. The Rebels then added 2 runs in the bottom of the 5th to extend the lead to 5-2. The Hogs would answer with runs in the top of the 7th and 8th to cut the Rebels lead to 5-4. Ole Miss shut down the Hogs in the 9th to take the 5-4 win.

The Rebels responded well in game-two which was expected. Some Ole Miss baseball fans may recall the Rebels bouncing back after game-one losses to Long Beach State and Tennessee. The Rebels came from behind t win both of those series. Ole Miss will have it’s work cut out to win this series in the same fashion. Of course, let’s look at the game-two win by the numbers.
