Linebackers

This is another position group we can expect to be much improved from last season. Last Saturday we saw the linebackers play with an intensity level the Landshark Defense has lacked in recent seasons. If we expect to see a resurgence in the Landshark D it will happen with this position  group.

The Rebels added Jon Sumrall to the defensive staff as linebackers coach and the spring game proved coach Sumrall has jacked up the intensity level. Sumrall had the linebackers playing hard and fast in the spring and it showed in the Grove Bowl. How good can this group be? The sky is the limit when you look at the talent level.

Returners include senior Detric Bing-Dukes and junior Willie Hibler. Also returning are sophomores Donte Evans and Mohamed Sanogo and redshirt freshmen Josh Clarke, Zikerrion Baker and Ryan Labanc. Sanogo led the Rebels in tackles during the Grove Bowl.
