Scottie Phillips is by every sense of the definition the real deal. Phillips of course was part of the 2018 signing class and the top JUCO running-back prospect in the 2018 class. Phillips is exciting to watch when he gets the ball in his hands. He is fast and a highlight film waiting to happen. He is a natural talent and even at 5’8″ he has a ton of power in a 212 lb frame.

Just watch his highlights from Jones JC and you can see for yourself how good he could be in the Ole Miss football backfield. Of course, with Jordan Wilkins departure to the NFL the depth chart is wide open for Phillips. No it won’t be easy becoming the premier running back in the Ole Miss/Longo offense but Phillips will certainly make a statement this season.

Of course, he’ll have some serious competition in the backfield with the rest of the Rebels depth chart. However, his presence on the competition will make an immediate impact in the regular season much like it did in the spring. Phillips had an outstanding spring as a Rebels and showed his skills in the 2018 Grove Bowl. Phillips rushed for 40 yards on 9 carries in the spring game.
