Yes, with as many great receivers as the Rebels have on the depth chart, which includes SEC leading receiver AJ Brown it’s hard to imagine another WR making a statement. However, when you look at DK Metcalf you can see he is expecting a breakout season. In 2017 Metcalf became an integral part of the NWO and put up really good numbers in a top-heavy depth chart. Metcalf caught 39 passes for 646 yards and 7 TDs.

With Brown out of the mix in the spring Metcalf had a very good Grove Bowl catching 3 passes for 64 yards and 2 TDs. We’ve seen Metcalf become more consistent in route running and especially the deep ball and will be very effective in 2018. Could this WR possibly break the 1K yard mark this season? He very well could in the pass happy Longo offense and could be one of two receivers who break the 1000 yard barrier.
