Ole Miss football added another pick in the 2018 NFL draft when the Indianapolis Colts picked Jordan Wilkins in the 4th round.
Ole Miss football gained a new NFL rebel with the 4th round selection of Jordan Wilkins by the Indianapolis Colts. Wilkins became the second Rebels player drafted in the 2018 NFL Draft. As Rebels fans we all are very aware of the accomplishments of Jordan Wilkins on and off the field and he has risen in the cream of the crop.
In a 2018 draft class which was literally flooded with great running-backs Jordan Wilkins is one of the best. Obviously the Indianapolis Colts saw the same thing we’ve been watching in Oxford for 5 years. Of course, one of those seasons saw Wilkins sidelined because of academic mistakes by an adviser. It seemed the mistake may have paid off huge with Wilkins landing with a very good NFL organization in Indy.
Remembering Wilkins
Ole Miss Rebels Football
There are few players who have impacted Ole Miss football and the fans the way Jordan Wilkins has. When you look back on his career as a Rebel there have been games where Wilkins was pivotal in the win. Personally, my favorite Wilkins play was his TD pass in the Egg Bowl but he has had many in the Red and Blue.
Wilkins also had a huge senior campaign where he rushed for over 1K yards and scored 9 TDs. Over the years we’ve seen firsthand the potential of a great running-back against the SEC defenses. While a Rebels running-back Jordan had 1,751 yards rushing and 14 TDs.
Wilkins has proven himself among the very best in the SEC and the nation with an outstanding senior season. Wilkins showed he could produce offensively on a consistent level and emerged as one of the top running-backs in the toughest conferences in the nation. Wilkins is strong and durable and doesn’t make mistakes when he’s on or off the field. Wilkins executes on every play.
Congrats To Wilkins
Growing up there are a number of us who could only dream of having our name called in the NFL draft. Last week Jordan Wilkins did just that. Congratulations to you Jordan and thank you for the memories as a Ole Miss Rebel. We can’t wait to see you in the NFL. Good luck and Hotty Toddy!
