Competitive Coaching

Last season we saw a young staff struggle in games from time to time. However, the coaching did get much better heading towards the end of the season. Coach Matt Luke and his staff managed to squeak out a .500 season with a huge season ending Egg Bowl win over Miss State. Of course, there were games where the Ole Miss football staff were completely out-coached and it cost the Rebels wins.

This season there are fewer unanswered questions than in 2017. The staff is solid and have a season under their belts to improve upon. The biggest difference is head coach Matt Luke isn’t falling under an interim tag and knows he’s the head coach this season. After a season long audition for the job in 2017 we can expect Matt Luke to be a much better coach in his second season. This will be key in the Rebels success on the field this season.
