Dedicated Fans

The past few years have been rough for Ole Miss football fans. We’ve had a lot happen with the NCAA investigation and sanctions which certainly put a damper on the season for many of us. However, now the investigation is over and the sanctions didn’t quite have the effect which many anticipated. The Ole Miss football program is finally back on track and moving forward and there have been a lot of good things happen.

Next: Season Predictions!

Which brings us to the subject of fan numbers at football games. I realize not every Ole Miss football fan has season tickets, however those of us who do should be adamant about being at every game and staying past the half. Over the years there has been an obvious decline in attendance between the first half and second half of home games.

Trust me, the Grove is an awesome experience on game-day but the Grove isn’t going anywhere; it will still be there after the game. Nothing affects the morale of a team more than coming onto the field in the second half and seeing a near empty stadium. A team who knows it’s fans are going to be there win or lose is paramount to the success of said team. This season we’ll see if the fans stick around for the second half. Hotty Toddy!
