It’s no surprise that Ole Miss baseball was selected as the No.4 national seed to host the Oxford Regional this weekend as the NCAA Tourney kicks off.

As Ole Miss baseball was still celebrating their 2018 SEC Tourney Championship Monday, the NCAA Tournament selections were being made. The Rebels were seeded as No.4 in the nation and were selected to host their own NCAA Oxford regional which begins this Friday. The will consist of four teams which the NCAA picks to play in the regional.

The Rebels couldn’t have asked for a better draw for the NCAA Oxford-Regional. Ole Miss will host the regional tourney and will be visited by St. Louis, Tennessee Tech and Missouri State. The field is set and there will be some great baseball in Oxford this weekend.

Looking At The Field

More from Ole Miss Baseball

Naturally Ole Miss baseball is the No.1 seed in the Oxford-Regional. However, this is a very good field which will be seen at Swayze Field beginning this Friday in Oxford. The No.2 seed Tennessee Tech (48-9) could easily turn Swayze into a launching pad theis weekend as they lead the nation in HRs. So far Tennessee Tech has had 127 HRs to lead the NCAA by far.

At No.3 in the Oxford-Regional is Missouri State who comes into the weekend off a great season. Missouri State (39-15) won the Missouri Valley Conference this past Sunday and will face Tennessee Tech in the first game this Friday in the Oxford-Regional. The fourth team to round out the field will be No.4 seed St Louis. The Billikens come into the Oxford-Regional with a 38-18 record are solid on both offense and defense and could be a formidable opponent for Ole Miss baseball in the opener for the Rebels.
