Ole Miss Baseball: Jordan Fowler Named Freshman All-American

While the Ole Miss baseball season has ended there have still been some Rebels who have been making the national headlines.

Even though the 2018 Ole Miss baseball team watched their postseason end in the Oxford-Regional there are still Rebels in the news. With the postseason in full swing there have been a number of Rebels who are still having exciting postseasons.

Besides the 2018 MLB Draft there have also been the postseason accolades which have rolled in. Freshman left-hander Jordan Fowler made the national headlines when he was named as part of the NCBWA Freshman All-American Team. After an outstanding freshman season Fowler has seen it pay off with national honors.

There is little doubt Jordan Fowler had a terrific freshman season on the mound for the Rebels. As primarily a midweek starter for coach Mike Bianco Fowler had a 7-0 record and a 3.20 ERA. Fowler pitched a total of 45.0 innings on the season allowing 16 earned runs on 40 hits and 18 walks. Fowler had 34 Ks in the 2018 Ole Miss baseball season.

Out of Union City, Tennessee the freshman lefty was electric throughout the regular season and the postseason. This is the second set of honors for the freshman left-hander. On June 6 Fowler was selected to the Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American team. The Dyer County standout was key to the success of the Rebels on the mound in 2018.
