Ole Miss Baseball: Tyler Keenan Named Freshman All-American

Once again there are more postseason accolades coming for more Ole Miss baseball players for their efforts in the 2018 baseball season.

Even though Ole Miss baseball is done with their 2018 season and the postseason is over there is still excitement for many Rebels players. Of course, amid the disappointment of the end of the Rebels postseason in the Oxford-Regional there has been the 2018 MLB Draft. There have also been postseason accolades and honors which have rolled in for a number of Rebels.

Thursday Perfect Game released their selections for All-American and Rebels 3rd baseman freshman Tyler Keenan was named 2nd team. It was the second honor for Keenan as he has already been selected to Collegiate Baseball’s Freshman All-American Team.

A Look At Keenan’s Season

It’s not really surprising to Ole Miss baseball fans to see Tyler Keenan honored for his success in 2018. He was great at 3rd base for the Rebels and even better at the plate. During his freshman season Keenan was outstanding and finished out his season with very impressive numbers.

Keenan hit for an amazing .301 average and had 9 HRs. Keenan was responsible for knocking in 38 RBI and scored 35 runs himself. Out of Clayton, North Carolina the Cleveland High standout was pivotal in the successful season which the Ole Miss Rebels had in 2018.

Twice during the 2018 season Keenan was named the SEC Freshman of the week. Of course, he had a great season and is very deserving of all the honors he has received and there are sure to be more which roll in for Keenan in the future.
