With the 2018 Ole Miss football season just around the corner OHT is wondering where Matt Luke ranks against the rest of the SEC West coaches.

While most Ole Miss football fans love the idea of having Matt Luke as head coach there are still critics. There are even Rebels who believe Ross Bjork could have made a better, more experienced hire. However, when last season ended there was a hailstorm of coaching moves being made in the SEC West, the SEC East and across the nation.

When you look at the revolving coaching door being instituted throughout the country it was an excellent move by Bjork. Bjork made the best decision but it was the easiest and safest.  Thankfully Bjork’s decision was made much easier by the outcome of the Egg Bowl against then No.14 ranked Miss State.

Although Matt Luke may not have been our first choice we have to believe he is the right guy for the job. Ole Miss wound up with a former player and long-time assistant as head coach. Not to mention what a new head coach with no knowledge of the Ole Miss program would be facing in Oxford. At any rate, Ole Miss is in much better shape than we were and we wanted to rank our new head coach against the rest of the SEC West coaches prior to the 2018 season. So let’s get started.
