Ole Miss football will begin its 2018 campaign on September 1st with a non-conference opponent so OHT thought we would take a look at those games first.

In the 2017 Ole Miss football season we watched a high-powered offense completely obliterate the non-conference portion of the schedule. We also watched the fast paced Phil Longo offense put up some gaudy numbers and break some records which had been thought to be unbreakable. Of course, this season the Rebels will be a much tougher team but so will their non-conference schedule.

Coach Matt Luke and the Rebels will be kicking off their 2018 season on September 1st with a Big-12 school. While other SEC schools are opening their seasons with cupcakes the Rebels have a serious opponent. Of course, a lot of these ‘premier’ opening weekend games are scheduled years in advance and sometimes programs have major changes in the time before they play.

This was the case with Texas Tech who the Rebels will open their season against in Houston, Texas on September 1st. Both teams had far better teams when the match-up was originally scheduled. Still the opening weekend game between Ole Miss and Texas Tech should be a great game. OHT decided we would take a look at the Ole Miss non-conference schedule and see what we are really up against. So let’s get started.
