Southern Illinois

This will the Rebels first home game of the season as the Southern Illinois Salukis come to Oxford. Coached by Nick Hill the Salukis are members of the Missouri Valley Conference which is a part of the Football Championship Subdivision. In 2017 the Salukis posted a 4-7 record and finished next to last in the MVC. The Salukis are not a bad team but the level of competition level is not even remotely close to being equal.

While the Salukis do have some very talented players on both sides of the ball they will be way over-matched. The game will be a showcase of the Rebels offensive and defensive weapons. This game will have cupcake numbers when it is all over with. Expect a huge show from Jordan Ta’amu and the NWO. Kickoff from Vaught-Hemingway Stadium is set for September 8th at 3pm CT and can be seen on the SEC Network.
