Ole Miss football may not be getting the respect it deserves in 2018 but still there are preseason accolades coming in for some Rebels.

With the 2018 Ole Miss football season just weeks away the excitement is building. Rebels fans are looking forward to see Ole Miss football in action. Of course, with football season so close there are different media outlets releasing their preseason rankings and preseason honors for players across the country.

Athlon recently released its preseason predictions for Ole Miss football’s finish in the SEC West. It isn’t pretty at 5-7, 1-7 in the SEC. Many Ole Miss fans are having a hard time wrapping their minds around the fact Athlon believes the Rebels will be worse in 2018 than 2017. OHT doesn’t believe it will go down that way and picked the Rebels to finish 9-3. Well Tuesday Athlon released it’s Preseason All-American Team and two Rebels found landing spots on the list.

Junior wide receiver AJ Brown and junior offensive lineman Greg Little are both selected as preseason All-American. Brown is selected to first-team and Little is selected to second-team. Brown and Little are both also named to Athlon All-SEC Team as first-team selections. Of course, both players are key in the Rebels success this season on the field.

A native of Starkville AJ Brown was clutch in 2017 leading the SEC in receiving yards. Last season as the premier receiver in the NWO Brown had 75 receptions for 1,262 yards and 11 TDs. Brown is big, physical and very fast. He has the ability to create separation and the explosiveness to turn a 5 yard pass into an 80 yard score on every play. We look forward to seeing Brown in action again in 2018.

When we say Greg Little is a huge part of the Ole Miss offensive line we aren’t kidding. At 6’6 and 325 lbs Little is a big presence on the O line. Out of Allen High School in Allen, Texas Little has solidified his spot as one of the top offensive tackles in the country. Of course, Little helps anchor one of the biggest offensive lines in the country and is key in providing protection for Ta’amu in the Rebels fast-paced offense.

Next: Highly Anticipated!

As the 2018 Ole Miss football season draws closer we can certainly expect to see these two players named on other All-American teams. Congratulations and good luck this season to AJ Brown and Greg Little. Hotty Toddy!
