Ole Miss football fans and OHT followers lost a great person, contributor and friend with the passing of Kevin ‘KL’ Williams Wednesday morning.

Wednesday morning Ole Miss football fans were shocked as we learned of the passing of Ole Hotty Toddy contributor KL Williams. There is nothing that strikes home as the passing of a young man. When it is a friend and someone we know as a good man it is even worse. It was announced early Wednesday that Kevin L Williams had gone way too soon.

For those of you who may not have had the chance to know KL, he was a great man. Not only was he a huge Ole Miss football fan but he was also more than that. Kevin was a good man, a Godly man, and somebody who genuinely cared about your problems. Whatever bothered you also bothered him and he would keep you in his prayers. This crazy world lost a great young man with compassion, intelligence, and insight.

Sometimes things just don’t seem right. Sometimes we lose our greatest assets first and it doesn’t seem fair. Kevin Williams was a good man and only 45 years old. To say we are saddened is an understatement.

When I first got to OHT there was only one contributor and that was KL. He guided me thru the site and helped me exponentially. He and I worked together for over a year keeping current content on the site.

I complimented Kevin on a very controversial article once and KL replied with “I have  my hands, my mind, and my voice.” He was very insightful and passionate about Ole Miss football and always spoke his mind and his heart.

He genuinely loved Ole Miss football and everybody he had any interaction with. KL had the ability to connect with his followers and was a daily presence in their lives. A remarkable man who was called home way too soon.

KL Will Be Missed

Kevin was a huge part of his community and church family. He had touched the lives of many of the people who he knew even for a short while. The people who had grown to know KL over the years knew he was truly great because of his love for God, family, and friends. It was no big secret he was also a huge Ole Miss football fan and loved sharing his views and opinions on everything which revolved around the Ole Miss program.

Because of his time spent contributing to Ole Hotty Toddy and Rebel Nation Magazine, KL had a huge following on social media. It didn’t matter what he was writing it was always well written and very supported by facts. KL could be serious when discussing a subject but he also had a terrific sense of humor when it came to certain issues. There is no doubt Kevin will be missed by all who knew him.

Kevin Williams is survived by his wife Rachel McKinney-Williams and his three children, daughter Morgan and sons Jonathan and Joshua. Rest in peace my brother and friend and thank you for the memories.
