As the Ole Miss football season gets closer there is a lot going on for Grove Grinder as the summer days get hotter.

So it’s full-blown July and we are waiting for the beginning of the 2018 Ole Miss football season. However, there are still a few weeks before it begins and there are some other things going on for most of us. July is always a busy month for us around here. The NCF is just around the corner and we have been busy getting the fair cabin ready.

For those of you who may not be familiar with the NCF it is a week-long party of sorts and is like a redneck Mardi Gras. There are over 600 cabins which may sleep up to 50 people and people come from all over the world to check it out. Each summer in the last week of July the fair occurs. For a solid week or more people basically live there. There is always food and fun and people have to stay hydrated so there may be more than just a little drink.

Each summer weeks before the Neshoba County Fair begins we have to get the cabins ready for the week-long event. Since they cut the power and water off thru the winter there will be busted pipes to fix and other details. It’s a lot of work but the end result is always worth it. Being able to connect with life long friends and new friends is priceless. Oh did I mention we have fun? The NCF begins July 27 and runs thru August 3. Stop in and say hey at cabin #327.

Time For Shout-Outs

First and foremost I want to express our deepest appreciation for the OHT fans and followers. Without the support they give there would be no need for OHT contributors to do our job. Second I really want to thank our contributors for the great work they do to help keep fresh content on our site. Jim Shute, Philip Westmoreland and Brien Straw all do great work and are excellent writers. I would also like to thank Greg Pevey and Rebel Nation Magazine for his help and support and for great writing ideas he has.

Next there are a number of Facebook groups which are very supportive of OHT and our contributors. Rebel Nation and Rebel Rant are two of the best fan groups on Facebook. They’ve always shown their kindness to us in the groups. Thanks to each and every member in both of these groups. We deeply appreciate all of their support.

Next: Burning Questions!

The dog days of summer are upon us and we’re excited and anxious for the 2018 Ole Miss football season. Thankfully some of us have a few other things to take in to help kill some of the time. Thanks again for your support and be sure to follow us on Facebook and twitter. Hotty Toddy!
