While the 2018 Ole Miss football season drawing near the 2019 Ole Miss recruiting class is getting larger and hanging in the rankings.

Ole Miss football is now less than a month away and excitement is building with hopes of a great season. Ole Miss football recruiting has also been fun to watch so close to the beginning of the season. Of course, with college football recruiting there is never a dull moment and so far this staff has delivered. Naturally with the twists and turn in the recruiting world it can be difficult to keep up.

This past week has been no different for coach Matt Luke and the 2019 Ole Miss recruiting class. The Rebels picked up three top commitments to boost the total of the class to 27 but then this past Thursday lost the commitment of Diwun Black. Black is regarded as one of the best ILB available in the 2019 class and is considered to be a five-star by many college football recruiting outlets. According to OMSpirit, Black is the fifth de-commitment for the 2019 Ole Miss recruiting class.

As of today the 2019 Ole Miss recruiting class stands at 26 hard commits. Coach Matt Luke and the Rebels currently have the 15th ranked class in the nation and are ranked 6th in the SEC. In a whirlwind week for recruiting Luke picked up the commitments of three four-star players. All three players are easily capable of making an immediate contribution to the depth in their respective positions in 2019.

Last Monday saw the commitment of Dannis Jackson. Jackson is a 6’1 180 lb WR from Sumrall. Then Tuesday Luke and the Rebels received the commitments of Darius Thomas and Jonathan Mingo. Thomas is a 6’6 340 lb OT from Jonesboro, Arkansas and Mingo is a 6’2 200 lb WR from Brandon. Jackson and Mingo are both ranked in the top dozen available players in Mississippi while Thomas is the number three player in Arkansas.
