Goat No.9 Charlie Flowers, FB

Charlie Flowers played at Ole Miss from 1957-1959. was part of an era of football when players played both sides of the ball on the collegiate level. While playing LB on defense, Flowers was best known for his tough running from the fullback position. In three seasons Flowers rushed for 1,717 yards.

As a member of the 1959 National Championship team Flowers rushed for 733 yards. That season he garnered both All-American and Academic All-American honors. Flowers also finished 5th in Heisman Trophy voting the same season. Flowers would go on to play professionally for the Los Angeles Chargers, San Diego Chargers and also the New York Titans.
