No.1 Chad Kelly, QB

Chad Kelly played quarterback for Ole Miss football in 2015 and 2016 and was a key piece of the Rebels offense in that time. While at Ole Miss Kelly completed 513 of 803 passes for 6,858 yards and 50 TDs. Kelly also had 203 carries for 958 yard and 16 TDs on the ground. Chad Kelly’s 6,858 career passing yards rank 3rd All-time while his 4,042 yards in 2015 rank 1st among Rebels QBs. In 2016, in a season shortened by injury, Kelly threw for 2, 758 yards which ranks 8th All-time for single-season.

In 2016 Kelly put up 465 passing yards against Auburn and 421 passing yards against Alabama. Both of those single-game performances are ranked 2nd and 5th All-time respectively. Kelly’s 50 career TDs ranks 3rd on the Rebels All-time list. Kelly’s single season marks of 31 TDs in 2015 and 19 TDs in 2016 rank as 1st (T-Eli Manning) and 10th All-time respectively. Kelly was named Sugar Bowl MVP after going 21 of 33 for 302 yards and 4 TDs while also rushing 10 times for 73 yards.

Chad Kelly was selected in the 2017 NFL Draft as ‘Mr Irrelevant’, the moniker which tags the last pick. Chad who was the 253rd pick in the 7th round by the Denver Broncos sat out the 2017 season but has come on strong in the 2018 NFL Preseason. Kelly is now back-up quarterback for Denver and will soon be competing for the starting spot for the Broncos.
