Saturday Ole Miss football fans were delightfully surprised by the Rebels big win over Texas Tech and now we’ve had a chance to size up a few takeaways.

Saturday marked the kickoff for the 2018 Ole Miss football season. While many major college football programs were getting full on cupcakes, the Rebels were facing a talented and well-coached Texas Tech Red Raiders team on the road in Houston, Texas. We all knew this would be a tough test for the Rebels who we also knew would have one of the top offenses in the nation. The Red Raiders who had question on the offensive side of the ball were returning ten starter on the defense.

Naturally it was great to get the 47-27 season opening win over a formidable opponent and it was equally great to see the Rebels in action. Of course, during the heat of the game we see the bigger plays which are made and don’t really get an overall picture of how well the team has improved untill we breakdown the final stats. OHT delivered our ‘first thoughts’ immediately following Saturdays game but now we’ve got our Top5 takeaways from the Rebels win over Texas Tech.
