Ta’amu Looked Solid

Jordan Ta’amu really couldn’t have asked for a much better season opening performance than he did. While many Ole Miss football fans feel as though Ta’amu has been overlooked by many college pundits he is off to a good start in 2018. Against a Red Raiders defense returning ten starters Ta’amu went 22 of 32 for 336 yards and 2 TDs with 0 INTs. Ta’amu finished with a 68.75 completion percentage and a QB rating of 177.58. Not only was Ta’amu very effective against the Red Raiders, he was also very efficient and protected the ball.

Sure he has a very experienced and talented offensive line and the best wide receiving corps in the nation, but Ta’amu deserves way more credit than he gets. Jordan Ta’amu is without a doubt the main cog in the Longo offense and everything turns on him. After last season many Rebels fans were anxious to see how Ta’amu would respond in his first game of the 2018 season. Ta’amu put up good numbers against a good defense and didn’t make mistakes, but the main thing which stuck out to me was how comfortable he looks on the field. Of course, we are ready to see more.
