The NWO Is More Than Three

The NWO has been deceiving us. Yes, I said it and it’s true. While juniors AJ Brown, DK Metcalf and senior DaMarkus Lodge had become the face of the NWO there are other great receivers waiting in the wings. Of course, both All-American AJ Brown and DK Metcalf had great days Saturday as expected but sophomore Braylon Sanders displayed his abilities in the absence of Lodge. Sanders finished the game with 4 receptions for 133 yards and 1 TD.

Besides Sanders there were also other NWO receivers who got in the mix Saturday. Seniors Floyd Allen and Alex Weber both had lone receptions in the game with Weber making an outstanding ‘Prothro’ catch from Matt Corral late in the game to set up the Rebels final score. We also saw the future of the NWO in action when freshman Elijah Moore picked up his first career TD as a Rebel and his first NWO belt. Entering this Saturday against No.1 ranked Alabama the Rebels will have three WRs in the SEC’s Top5 receiving leaders.
