Don’t Give Up Just Yet

Saturday if you were at the game or watching at home you saw a very rough first half of football for the Rebels defense. If you happened to be around other Rebels fans there is a high likelihood you saw some Rebels reach meltdown level. At halftime social media was burning up with posts about both the Rebels defense and coaching staff. While it was somewhat amusing it was also alarming. Rebels fans every right to be upset by what we witnessed for 2 quarters this past Saturday and I’ll be the first to admit it left me a little concerned.

On a positive note the defensive effort in the second half helped to calm some nerves and ease concerns. I’m not sitting here and telling you we don’t have a lot to worry about defensively. Sitting at 128th in the country clearly says we do. However, before we rush to judgement we should try to keep a few things in mind. Number one, this defense is relatively young with a lot of new faces and will suffer a few growing pains. Number two, though the Rebels defense was obviously not focused because of Bama looming and now they don’t have to wait much longer. Number three, the talent is there and given the experience the defense will get better.

Next. Season Predictions!. dark

As Ole Miss football fans it is us against the world and it has always been that way. This week the Rebels face the No.1 team in the nation and yeah we may be a little nervous and maybe even a little worried. Why is the question we should be asking ourselves. This isn’t unfamiliar territory for Ole Miss; we’ve been up against No.1 Alabama before and we won. This Saturday Ole Miss enters the game with the best offense in the SEC despite our defensive ranking. This is the SEC and anything can happen on any Saturday and every time we have ever beaten the TIde, well we weren’t supposed to win any of those either. This Saturday hang in there and have faith in this team. Personally I like our chances. Hotty Toddy!
