Ta’amu Is Only Human

Thru the first two games of the 2018 Ole Miss football season we watched as Jordan Ta’amu looked near-perfect going into the Bama game. Against Texas Tech in the season opener Ta’amu went 22 of 32 for 336 yards and 2 TDs only to follow it up by going 24 of 35 for 479 yards and 5 TDs against SIU. Unfortunately Texas Tech and Southern Illinois are not Bamas and the Rebels offense wasn’t ready for the matchup.

After the very first play which went for a 75 yard TD there was little the Rebels offense could do to thwart the Bama defense. Ta’amu who had been sacked twice coming into Saturday night was sacked four times by Bama. Saban had a clear plan to disrupt the Rebels passing game with pressure and it worked. Ta’amu was 7 of 22 for 133 yards and 1 TD with 2 INTs and a fumble. Every great QB has a bad night and Jordan Ta’amu will bounce back.
