No.4 Missouri Tigers (3-0, 0-0)

The Missouri Tigers (3-0, 0-0) traveled to take on Purdue (0-3) and picked up the 40-37 road win. The Tigers are loaded on the offensive side of the ball and have put an incredible 1,767 yards of total offense. Missouri has put up 1,167 passing yards and 600 rushing yards. The Mizzou defense has allowed 1,139 yards giving up only 247 yards on the ground but giving 915 yards thru the air.

The Tigers are another one of those SEC teams you know has a great offense but the questions come on the defensive side of the ball. While the Tigers can put up big numbers and score in bunches the secondary is very vulnerable. Missouri is now reaching the part of the schedule which will tell us what we can really expect from them this season. Missouri plays No.2 Georgia this Saturday in Columbia.

No.3 Kentucky Wildcats (3-0, 1-0)

The Kentucky Wildcats (3-0, 1-0) picked up a solid 48-10 win over Murray State (0-3) this past Saturday. So far thru three games Mark Stoops and the Kentucky offense have put up 1,409 yards of total offense gaining 847 yards on the ground and 562 yards thru the air. On the defense the Wildcats have allowed just 917 yards giving up 549 yards thru the air and just 368 yards on the ground.

We can always expect Stoops to have a great defense which is the case this season but he now has a pretty good offense with a very good run game. This season Kentucky could be a very dangerous team in the SEC east. Will Kentucky be able to handle a tough SEC West team? Stoops and Kentucky find out this weekend as they face No.14 Miss State (3-0, 0-0).

No.2 Vanderbilt Commodores (2-1)

The Vanderbilt Commodores (2-1, 0-0) traveled to South Bend to take on the No.8 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (3-0). The Dores fell to the Irish in a 22-17 loss but looked really good. So far thru three games the Commodores have put up 1,234 yards of total offense with 766 yards coming thru the air and 468 yards coming on the ground. On defense coach Derek Mason and the Dores have allowed 924 yards giving up 529 yards thru the air and just 395 yards on the ground.

Much like Kentucky the Commodores have been on the cusp of having a good team. Under Mason we have seen the focus on the Vandy defense as expected and they are very good. Any success Vandy has this season will certainly rely on that side of the ball. However, Vandy has an offense which is beginning to show its effectiveness. This Saturday will show us much more of what to expect from Vandy as they host South Carolina (1-1, 0-1).

No.1 (3) Georgia Bulldogs (3-0, 1-0)

The No.3 Georgia Bulldogs (3-0, 1-0) picked up a 49-7 blowout win over MTSU (1-2) this past Saturday. Georgia continues to show why it is considered the dominant team in the SEC East and followed up the win over South Carolina with a solid performance. So far thru three game the Bulldogs offense has put up 1,465 yards of total offense with 649 yards coming thru the air and 816 yards on the ground.

The Bulldogs defense has given up just 767 yards allowing 459 yards thru the air and just 304 yards on the ground. The job Kirby Smart has done to bring Georgia football back into the spotlight is amazing and this team is very good. It’s hard to imagine anybody being able to knock off the Bulldogs but it could happen. Who could it be is the question the SEC East wants to know. No.2 Georgia travels to Columbia to take on the Missouri Tigers (3-0, 0-0) this Saturday.
