Ole Miss Football: Jordan Ta’amu Receives Co-SEC Accolades

Ole Miss football was able to get a hard-fought comeback SEC road win this past Saturday and Jordan Ta’amu was recognized for his big game.

Ole Miss football fans know the Rebels have a great quarterback who has been key to the big offensive numbers we’ve seen this season. Monday Rebels quarterback Jordan Ta’amu was recognized by the SEC for his performance against the Hogs by being named Co-Offensive Player of the Week.

This past Saturday Jordan Ta’amu had another huge day going 26 of 35 for 387 yards and 2 TDs. Ta’amu also had 17 carries for 141 yards and 1 TD on the ground. The 528 yards of total offense by Ta’amu is the second most for any Ole Miss QB behind Archie Manning (540 yards/Alabama). Ta’amu was also named as one of eight Manning Stars of the Week for his amazing comeback performance against the Hogs.

So far in 2018 Jordan Ta’amu has been the best quarterback in the SEC and is currently the SEC passing leader and has been for much of this season.

Ta’amu has completed 146 of 222 attempts for 2,298 passing yards with 15 TDs and just 5 INTs. Ta’amu has a completion percentage of 65.8 and a quarterback rating of 170.5 which are both very good numbers for an SEC quarterback.

Out of Pearl City, Hawaii Jordan Ta’amu has been named to the 2018 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Watchlist and the 2018 Polynesian Player of the Year Award Watchlist.

Ta’amu has emerged to be a great leader for the Ole Miss offense and has been very effective in his efforts as a Rebels quarterback. According to OleMissSports,

"The senior signal-caller now has five of the top 10 single-game total offense performances in program history, including four this season; the most ever by any Ole Miss player. Ta’amu currently ranks 10th all-time in career passing yards at Ole Miss with 3,980 yards. ~OleMissSports.com"
