Saturday wasn’t supposed to happen for Ole Miss football when they hosted the Auburn Tigers but it did and it wasn’t very pretty now or in the long haul.

Pitiful is the only perfect description for Ole Miss football today. There is no dignity in what we watched today tied for 4th with Miss State in the SEC West. Yes, 4th in the SEC West. Coach Matt Luke and the Rebels had something to gain today with a win but sadly they failed to make the mark and suffered a 31-16 loss.

Ole Miss looked like crap today. They came out flat and underestimated their opponent. (We can’t wait for the weekly pressers.) How you do that with coach Gus Malzahn and the Auburn Tigers is beyond all football comprehension yet somehow the Ole Miss coaching staff mastered it today. After an impressive 5-2 start the Rebels coaching staff folded in week 8.

Where To Begin

Ole Miss Rebels

No doubt the refs weren’t in favor of the Rebels in the first half. OHT will be addressing the broke armed officiating in the first half of todays game over the coming days. Sankey gets an extension and we get a shaft. But hey we are Ole Miss.

Look I have a lot of Auburn friends and likely they said the officiating wasn’t bad. As one Weagle said “the officiating may have been for us but it was atrocious!” She also did say we would blame the loss on the officials and some Ole Miss football fans will.

This single mishap, and that is all it really is because we’ve been programmed for this, was not a result of a happen stance. There is a real problem when the hundredth and wherever defense holds a team to 31 points and we can’t win with the No.1 QB and No.2 RB in the SEC and the NWO. SMDH.

This was as sad as sad could be for me. No Auburn wasn’t my pick in the West nor were they a force to be reckoned with today or last week. Not to take anything away from the Auburn win on a Weagle basis, this team is much better than the way they were coached today. Simply put, coach Matt Luke and his staff got out-coached today. Gus Malzahn punked y’all. Period.

So keep in mind this is just the first thoughts. Trust me there will be more to come after I’ve had a chance to watch it a couple of times. This was ugly. Be sure to check back here for more. Good game Weagles. Hotty Toddy!
