Its Thanksgiving and despite Ole Miss football finishing up the 2018 season there are a lot of things for all of us to be very thankful for.

Today is Thanksgiving and while many of us may be unhappy about the 2018 Ole Miss football season coming to and end there really is more to life than football. Naturally there are many of us regardless of Rebels or Bulldogs fan who will be making the trip to Oxford today for the 2018 edition of the Egg Bowl. Some fans however have elected to spend their day with family and friends and bypass the Oxford trip tonight.

Those of us who have will probably be watching the game with friends and family who will likely be a conglomeration of both Rebels and Bulldogs. There will be good-natured ribbing and there will be cowbells involved for some of us. Some of us aren’t lucky enough to only have family members who are Ole Miss fans or strictly Miss State fans. However, they are family or they are friends and we love them nonetheless.

Where Would We Be?

Take a look around you right now and ask yourself where you would be without the person or persons you are with right at this moment? Could you even imagine possibly having to live life without them? Take away the people who mean the world to you and you would likely find yourself very alone in this world. Many of us should also look at the game of football and the Egg Bowl rivalry much the same way.

Regardless of where we are tonight and regardless of who we have to watch the game with, there are truly worse places we could be. If you took away the Egg Bowl rivalry or if you took away the Miss State fans then where would you be? I know many of us would be lost. Without each other the rivalry would be just another game on the schedule and we all know the Egg Bowl is way more than just a game.

Next. The GOATS of Ole Miss. dark

So tonight as you watch the Egg Bowl with friends and family or even if you’re at the game surrounded by strangers, remember to ask yourself where would you be without them? When cousin Jerry walks in with his beer and cowbell you already know what’s coming so don’t be surprised. No matter how the game turns out cousin Jerry is still somebody you don’t want to live without. Maybe you could live without the cowbell but tonight wouldn’t be the same without him. Rebel Nation be very thankful for what you do have today; it could always be worse. Be sure to have a happy Thanksgiving and be sure to tell cousin Jerry Hotty Toddy! GO REBS!
