Ole Miss football fans are not really focused on football at this point but we do still have thoughts about college football and what should be done.

Ole Miss football may have been forced to watch the 2018 college football postseason from the sidelines so to speak but we still watched and saw what obviously needs to be done. Basically, the SEC got our butts kicked in the bowl games and then also in the National Championship game. When you are down you can only go up so it’s time for the SEC to become a ‘Super Conference’!

Yes, it’s time for Greg Sankey to finally do something positive for the SEC and it begins with conference expansion. The SEC is down and those of us who have been college football fans long enough can see it. In postseason play the SEC record was terrible with the SEC winning just four out of nine games. When you factor in the embarrassing Alabama performance in the NCG then you can see the SEC is down.

What Needs To Be Done

There was an obvious deficiency in the SEC this past season and we know it. Now is the time for Greg Sankey and the SEC to consider expansion. While Sankey has failed to be anything more than a SEC doorstop for Alabama, he has to see the only way for the SEC to rebound is to keep your enemies close.

Apparently from the SEC record in bowl games there is indeed something which needs to be done to advance the conference. Now is the time Greg Sankey needs to get to work and finally bring the SEC back to football glory.

So what does Sankey do? Well, we already know Sankey loves the SEC cash cow so Clemson joining the SEC is out of the question. However, there are some other great college programs which would add to the conference instead of it being thrown away this past Monday night.

Who Is In?

So after we take a look at the wins and the losses we would ultimately look at the national title game. While the SEC would immediately be better with Clemson to shake things up, trust me it ain’t happening. Clemson is the nemesis for Bama, the SEC and NCAA and college football. The irony is Dabo Swinney will likely be the head coach for Bama and he would even hate to lose to Clemson down the road. Clemson for now is out.

The teams which we could see being great additions to the SEC is what we watched as dominant in the SEC moving forward. One huge SEC addition in the West Division would be Iowa. Of course, we watched as they dismantled the ‘Psycho Defense’ of Miss State. Apparently it was all in their heads….just saying.

But if you add a team to the West which should be Iowa then you would naturally have to add a team to the SEC East. What a joke….I mean choke. The SEC East was one shining moment and that was the Kentucky Wildcats. Despite not finishing the season on top of the SEC East they need somebody who can slow them down. Enter UCF, a team which deserves a better situation than they have been allowed by the NCAA. If UCF was part of a Power-5 conference they would have already won a natty.

It’s About Time

Tuesday morning was a sad day for a lot of Bammers but it was just as bad for the rest of the SEC. While Ole Miss football fans were forced to sit at home for another season and we really couldn’t do anything it was really a sad state of affairs for the SEC to lose a national championship when we were counting on Saban and Bama.

Next. The GOATS of Ole Miss. dark

When you are down you rebuild, that is how college football is. Right now the SEC is down and it’s time for Sankey and the SEC to do the right thing for the entire conference instead of trying to take care of a couple of charter schools. The SEC should be the premier conference in college football but has fallen short under Greg Sankey. Now is the time for Greg Sankey to do his job. Hotty Toddy!
