Coach Mike Bianco and Ole Miss baseball will be opening the anticipated 2019 season Friday as they host Wright State in their first series.

Spring is almost here and we know because Ole Miss baseball opens their season this Friday. The Rebels saw a large degree of success last season and despite graduation and the MLB Draft we expect 2019 to be a great year on the diamond. The Rebels 2018 season may have ended in a disappointing fashion but we know we have a lot to look forward to in 2019.

Bianco and the Rebels are beginning the season ranked of course but could be much higher. right now Ole Miss baseball is ranked No.10 nationally according DI Baseball and their poll. The Rebels are also ranked No.13 by Baseball America in the preseason. Apparently after the Rebels success in 2018 most college baseball pundits and Ole Miss baseball fans believe 2019 will be a great season.

Coach Mike Bianco and Ole Miss baseball will hit the field this Friday as they face Wright State in the season opening weekend series in Oxford. The Rebels are coming off a 2018 season which saw them pick up 48 overall wins and the SEC Tourney. While the 2018 season ended sooner than we would have liked, 2019 could be the magic season for coach Mike Bianco. Bianco doesn’t rebuild, he just reloads and we’ve seen it season after season.

This weekend the Rebels will host the Wright State Raiders who have a very good baseball team. The Raiders are entering the 2019 season coming off a 2018 season which saw them go 39-17, 22-9. The Raiders were 17-12 on the road which could play into the Bianco game plan when it comes to wins and losses. This is not a run over opener for the Rebels by any means. The Raiders will be a tough matchup for the Rebels this coming weekend.

First pitch for the season opener in the three game weekend series is set for 4pm CT Friday at Swayze Field in Oxford. Good luck to coach Mike Bianco and the Rebels this weekend. Hotty Toddy!
