Ole Miss baseball picked up the first series win of the 2019 season against Tulane and Thomas Dillard picked up SEC and National honors.
This past weekend Ole Miss baseball was in a three-game series with Tulane in which the Rebels won two games and the series. Thomas Dillard was honored Monday with both SEC Player of the Week, Collegiate Baseball National Player of the Week and Golden Spikes Performance of the Week for his play thru the last week. Dillard’s outstanding week began against Arkansas State and finished up with the weekend series against Tulane.
In the midweek game against Arkansas State Dillard went 2 for 4 with 1 HR and 3 RBI. Dillard also scored 3 runs. Over the weekend against Tulane Dillard went 5 for 13 with 2 HR and 10 RBI. In Dillard’s Saturday performance against Tulane he went 3 for 5 with 2 HR and 8 RBI which was enough to gain the Golden Spikes Performance of the Week.

A native of Oxford, Mississippi junior left-fielder Thomas Dillard has become a fan favorite and has produced on the field and at the plate. So far thru his Ole Miss career Dillard has proven to be one of the best hitters in the Rebels lineup and has the stats to prove it. In two seasons and six games Dillard is hitting .285 overall with 85 RBI and a slugging percentage of .524. Dillard has hit 21 HRs during that time with 13 coming in 2018.
So far thru six games in the 2019 season Thomas Dillard has .522 average with 15 RBI and an amazing 1.217 slugging percentage. So far in 2019 Dillard has 4 homers which ranks first in the SEC and seventh nationally. Dillard is also great in the field as the Rebels starting left-fielder and has a fielding percentage of 1.000 with 18 put-outs.
