No.4 Equal Offense?

While the spread offense is predominantly known as a passing offense it couldn’t succeed without great RBs to tote the mail in specific situations. Over the past two seasons we watched the success of the Ole Miss running backs stable with two great backs in first Jordan Wilkins in 2017 and then Scottie Phillips in 2018. Will Ole Miss be a team which comes out in 2019 running the ball? Probably not, but we do want to see a balance.

While some Ole Miss fans are worried about the Ole Miss offense becoming a ‘running’ spread it probably won’t go down like that. Rich Rod is inheriting a vast amount of talent at both the QB and WR positions. It is likely we will see the same pass-happy offense we are used to but we also want to see what the future of the Ole Miss backfield holds. Rich Rod will want to be a 50/50 coordinator who wants a balanced offense but the new NWO will be a major element.
